Jim is a strong believer in garnering knowledge from peers, experts, and past experiences to design practical, yet progressive engineering solutions. Joining OLA in 2002, Jim applied this methodology to the growth and expansion of the firm’s specialty in energy audits, energy modeling, energy retrofits, high performance design, and commissioning work. Jim’s accumulation of education and experience as an engineer, both in commissioning and design, spans over 33 years and has delivered many projects recognized by ACEC, AIA, and NSPE for their environmental consciousness.
Jim is considered an expert on high performance buildings and sustainable design, speaking frequently to professional and academic organizations such as ASHRAE, AIA, and many universities throughout the region. He also served two terms as ASHRAE Bi-State Chapter President.
