Energy/Commissioning Engineer

An Energy/Commissioning Engineer position at OLA places you among a strong, passionate team trained in commissioning, energy analysis, and high performance design concepts. The Energy/Commissioning Engineer we want to join our team has:

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal skills. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form.

• Experience in performing energy analysis of multiple system options and presenting recommendations in both a written and oral format.

• Fully capable of working as a third party to design teams to assist in system selection and verify energy performance of various systems.

• Knowledge of, and experience with, the commissioning process.

• Knowledge of automation and controls systems, HVAC systems, and lighting and lighting controls.

• Knowledge of the design of mechanical and electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities as they relate to energy conservation is preferred.

• Knowledge of building and energy codes as well as energy standards.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

• 8-12 years of U.S. consulting experience required

• DOE2, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, or Energy Plus experience preferred

• LEED, CEM or CCP accreditations preferred

• Professional Registration, PE, or EIT a plus

• Energy analysis, energy modeling, or commissioning knowledge and experience

Energy/Commissioning Engineer-HVAC

We are currently seeking engineers with a strong passion for involvement in the energy/commissioning engineering sector. These individuals will be trained in energy analysis and/or high performance design concepts, and will eventually be fully responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of our energy services projects from the scoping and proposal stage through project completion. The successful candidate shall become an integral part of our expanding Energy Services Group. We are currently seeking both entry level and experienced engineers. The candidates should have the following capabilities or the ability to obtain:

• Passion for the energy engineering and commissioning sectors.

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal skills.  The candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form.

• Experience in the design of mechanical systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of automation and controls systems, HVAC systems, gas distribution systems, and commercial refrigeration as they relate to energy conservation for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities is preferred.

• Knowledge of building and energy codes as well as energy standards.

• Experience in performing some level of energy analysis of multiple system options and presenting recommendations in both a written and oral format is preferred.

• Desire and capability to lead others in energy analysis and/or commissioning.

• Be fully capable of working as a third party to design teams to assist in system selection and verify energy performance of various systems.

• Knowledge of, or exposure to, the commissioning process from a global perspective.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering is required

• Entry level candidates need to meet the education requirement and desire to work in energy, design, and commissioning engineering.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD required, knowledge of Revit a plus

• Exposure to EQuest, Visual DOE, or Energy Plus is preferred

• EIT preferred

• Experience or familiarity with energy analysis, energy modeling, or the requirements of LEED is a plus.

Electrical Engineer

OLA has an immediate need for Electrical Engineers for key positions in both our New York City and Westchester County offices. Candidates should have approximately four to eight years of U.S. consulting experience in the design of electrical systems, including new services, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm, and low voltage systems for commercial and institutional facilities. Responsibilities will include field investigation, analysis, design, production of contract documents, and construction administration services. The candidate shall have the capability of working on multiple projects and must have good communications skills to relate to clients, other design professionals, contractors, vendors, and his/her peers.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• 4-8 years of U.S. experience with commercial electrical systems design

• EIT Preferred, PE a plus

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD required, knowledge of Revit preferred

• Familiarity with National Electric Code and NYC codes

• LEED accreditation a plus

Electrical Engineer (Entry Level)

OLA has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer interested in a career in consulting engineering for commercial and institutional facilities. Individuals will learn the skills to design electrical systems such as services, power distribution, UPS and emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, and other related electrical systems. Responsibilities will include field investigation, analysis, design, production of contract documents, and construction administration services. The ideal candidate must have communications skills to relate to clients, other design professionals, contractors, vendors, and his/her peers.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• Course work in power systems, lighting, or similar areas is preferred

• Entry level and up to three years of consulting experience will be considered

• EIT preferred

• Knowledge of AutoCAD required (except for entry level), knowledge of Revit a plus

• Familiarity with building electrical systems a plus

• LEED accreditation, or interest in obtaining, a plus

Mechanical Engineer

OLA has a need for Mechanical Engineers for both our NYC and Westchester offices interested in a career in  designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. Responsibilities will include field investigation, analysis, design, production of design documents, and construction administration services. The candidate shall have the capability of working on multiple projects and must have good communications skills to relate to clients, other design professionals, contractors, vendors, and his/her peers. OLA provides mentoring and on-site, as well as off-site, training for continuous learning.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

• Entry level and up to three years of U.S. consulting experience will be considered

• EIT preferred

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD required, knowledge of Revit a plus

• Knowledge of plumbing and fire protection as well as NFPA a plus

• LEED accreditation, or knowledge of LEED, a plus
